Meet an alchemist of beauty Dr. Sophie Lee

Dr. Lee is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  She received her B.S. and M.D. from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. She completed her internal medicine residency training at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport and Nephrology Fellowship training at University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Jiyoun Kim

After a vibrant medical career working as a neurologist in South Korea, Jiyoun began her journey as a certified esthetician in the state of Texas. She holds an ECFMG certificate, and is licensed in professional laser hair removal.  In her free time, she enjoys parenting three kids, playing the piano, and spending time with her dog Lily.

“My goal is to provide rejuvenating service that empowers every patient to walk through life with confidence and self-assurance.”

Grace Jung, Master Esthetician

Grace began her career with education and courses in Korea and USA.  She graduated Korean Beauty School in Seoul and Asel Beauty College in Los Angeles, California. Additionally she trained in permanent cosmetics and scalp micropigmentation at Global Meilleur Academy in Korea. She developed the 10 step Korean glass facial process with Niki Han Schwarz, a prominent figure in the Los Angeles beauty industry.  Grace’s 24k Gold Facial on Clevver Style has over 1.4M YouTube views, and she was featured on Los Angeles local television.  She has trained many students, including those who have gone on to work with Hollywood celebrities.  Always elegant, Grace enjoys listening to classical music, visiting art museums and reading books.

Glenda Rodriguez, LVN

Glenda is a native Houstonian and is happy to not only live locally, but work and serve in the city that helped raise her. She spent 12 years in the medical field as a Medical Assistant before deciding to further her education to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Glenda loves nursing because she is an empathetic person with a deep desire to help others. She is trained in all laser devices and injections.  Her goal for her clients at Sophie JY Lee MD Aesthetics is to feel seen, heard, and leave appointments feeling confident with radiant skin.

Esther Kim, Esthetician

A long time resident of Los Angeles, Esther moved to Houston where she earned her esthetician license.  She studied aesthetic techniques and professional etiquette at charm school in Seoul, South Korea.  Her values of kindness, cooperation, and continual learning of aesthetic techniques makes her a valuable part of our team at Sophie JY Lee MD Aesthetics.  She enjoys spending time with her family, visiting Los Angeles and watching movies.

Aida, Esthetician

Aida is an esthetician with over 15 years of experience, who loves all things beauty-related! Originally receiving her education in Houston, she went on to work in high-end spas in California, and is ready to give you the luxury experience you’ve been looking for! Aida is certified in micro-needling, dermaplaning, and other services (such as facials and body treatments). In addition, she is also continuing her education and hopes to eventually be a “catch-all.”

Pamela Pirela, Patient Experience Team

A native of Venzuela, she received her degree in administration with an emphasis on marketing and business management.  When not working at the spa, she excels as a model and makeup artist.  She loves dancing, running, and exploring Houston with her family and friends.

Cecilia Ryu, Patient Experience Team

Cecilia worked in design field after receiving Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from RISD and an associate degree in Fashion Design in her hometown Philadelphia.  After moving to Houston in 2009, she worked as educational guidance and a center manager at an academic learning center while raising her two beautiful boys with her loving husband.  She has always been interested in beauty in all fields of life and has a passion for beauty not only skin deep but within the healthy body and mind.  With her compassion she wishes to create a harmonious work environment to ensure excellent quality of care to all our patients.

Chanda Allen, Patient Experience Team

Chanda arrived at Sophie JY Lee MD Aesthetics after completing a 20 year engineering career.  Ready for a change and always passionate about skincare, she decided to embark on a new career path within the Aesthetic industry and was thrilled to find she could use her technical skillset in a new way, ensuring smooth operations and superior service for our clients. She’s a Kentucky native who’s been fortunate to call Houston home since 2003.  Away from the spa, she is a committed yogi, mom to two sons and a mini schnauzer named Liberty Bell.
